Hey y’all! I’m so glad you’re here! Welcome to this little blog of mine, The Rustic Boxwood...a "journal" where I share my current obsessions in diy projects, fashion trends and decorating...and then more decorating! I’m Katie. Born and raised in a classic, Southern town in Georgia and married to my wonderful college sweetheart from California. His name is Ryan. We have two precious kiddos, and they are special gifts from God! My blog was born out of a desire to share a little about my passions: all things diy and farmhouse style, treasures I’ve scored at local thrift stores/yard sales, and occasional fashion styles.

It all started a few years ago with the birth of Pinterest. Before Pinterest was created, I was totally content to slap some paint on my walls, keep my house clean and spend my free time at the gym, running on the treadmill every afternoon at 4:00. But all that has changed. And although I still hit the gym a couple of times a week, my passions have shifted.

About the time that Pinterest started, I was having terrible back pain. Thus, I was on the couch with a heating pad….a lot. This, in turn, began my love with all things beautiful in the realm of decorating and diy. Now, there is always some kind of project or craft going in my home at any given time, such as diy farmhouse decor from thrift-store finds or our latest kitchen remodel. You might even find me (and my hubby) sharing diy projects via Facebook Live, and we sure do have a fun time with y'all during those videos!

I love to yard sale, browse through antique and thrift stores, and find the best deal I can get. I hate paying full price for anything! And I absolutely love to give new life to old things! (Or make new things look old, such as transforming a brand new chicken feeder into an "aged" plate rack!)
