Hey friends!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Before I begin, I wanted to remind you to follow along with me on Pinterest, Instagram, TwitterHomeTalk and Facebook, so that you don’t miss another post!

This year, I really wanted to have a Christmas tree that had the look of coming fresh from some snow-covered woods (although our small Georgia town hardly gets any snow ever).  Mr. CPA didn't want to spend the money on a new tree (which was fine), so I had to get creative.  But secretly, I kind of like the challenge of having to develop money-saving ideas that make our home look beautiful. ;) (Shhh...don't tell him I said that!!)

So, alas!!  I had a roll of polyfill that I bought recently at the thrift store, and I thought...what if I just cut up pieces of this white, cottony stuff and drape it over random branches on my tree?!  Now, I know there's nothing new under the sun, and I'm sure this idea has been thought of before, but I was just excited to come up with something that didn't cost an arm and a leg!  I previously tried the flocking spray, but hated it.  I mean seriously HATED it.  What a mess that stuff made!  But this polyfill was perfect!  It's cheap, easy to remove, doesn't make a mess and most importantly...looks really pretty on the tree!

Polyfill comes in 2 different options: as a roll or as stuffing.  As I said earlier, I bought the roll of polyfill at a thrift store, and my sweet mama had passed a bag of the stuffing to me.  But you can buy it at all craft stores and Walmart.

I also added some flocked garland (which was definitely a little messy because of the flocking) to random spots on the tree and added some fluffy, white pompom garlands to the tree, but really...the polyfill could sit beautifully on the tree by itself!

So what do you think about this very useful accessory for the holiday home?  Are you inspired to incorporate some into your Christmas decor?  If so, in what ways?

Check out the other ways I've used polyfill in our home:

I had a bag of the polyfill stuffing and used it on the roof and the ground of our mini "log cabin" for a snowy effect.

I filled the inside of a galvanized tray at our entry with polyfill stuffing for another snowy effect.

And last year, I incorporated it inside a vintage crate as a "sheet" of snow for my DIY glitter houses.

I'd love to hear about your creative ideas when it comes to using polyfill!  Comment below, or stop by Pinterest, Instagram, TwitterHomeTalk and Facebook and say hey.  Your sweet words always make my day!
